Meet Tysons Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Haganah Leadership!

Self Defense Instructor

Bill Grinnell is the Chief Instructor and Founder of Tysons Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Haganah. Bill is 2nd Degree Black Belt Gracie/Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and 4th Degree Black Belt Haganah/F.I.G.H.T. He is the country's only black belt in both styles. Bill brings over 22 years of experience coaching students from across Northern Virginia. He teaches confidence, mental toughness, physical fitness, and technical ability, the core principles on which Tysons Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Haganah is founded.

Previously, Bill was Chief Instructor at Fighter’s Garage, American Fight Club, and Vienna Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. In his spare time, Bill enjoys a strong cup of coffee; debating Life’s Eternal Questions with friends and family; and keeping up on the latest in tactical knife and Special Forces defense techniques. He believes every student is capable of achieving the best version of self—physically, spiritually, and mentally. As he famously says, "see you on the mats!"

If you have questions and are interested in connecting with Bill about upcoming seminars, hosting a seminar, or private classes, please reach out. Tysons Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Haganah welcomes new opportunities and fresh perspectives.
