What is your TRX Fitness Program?

Our TRX Fitness Program uses a combination of suspension equipment and other body weight exercises to develop and enhance strength, balance, flexibility and reinforce core stability.

Each bootcamp style class starts with workout stations using TRX suspension straps, a highly portable performance training tool that leverages gravity and the user’s body weight to complete many different types of range of motion exercises. The TRX suspension system has the flexibility to adjust body alignment to tailor exercises for beginners or more challenging workouts as you become more familiar with the equipment and make progress on your fitness goals.

TRX History: Born in the Military, Embraced by Professional Athletes and Fitness Enthusiasts

The prototype of the TRX system was created in 1997 by Navy SEAL Squadron Commander, Randy Hetrick while he was deployed in Asia. When his mission was unexpectedly put on hold, his challenge was to maintain his team’s conditioning without access to training facilities or heavy workout equipment. He started to experiment using only a Jiu Jitsu belt and parachute harness and created what his SEAL teammates came to call his “fitness gizmo.”

Born in the Military

“Failure doesn’t exist unless you let it. Embrace the mantra: stop thinking, start doing.” –Randy Hetrick, TRX Founder

His invention quickly caught on in the military community and evolved into a commercially available training system that has been embraced by professional athletes, trainers and fitness enthusiasts.

Now called TRX, it has become a scientifically proven system of bodyweight exercises that have empowered people of all kinds to be their best selves, no longer limited by the constraints of time, place, or physical ability.

Fitness Tailored to the Needs of Martial Arts Students

At Tysons Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Haganah, we honor the origins of the TRX system and its links to martial arts by designing themed workouts that complement our Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Israeli Self Defense training. Our TRX classes help to build the core stability, strength and range of motion critical to refining martial arts technique. Every bootcamp style class provides an intense workout regimen and supportive team environment for circuit conditioning that is adapted to each class member's needs and fitness level. You can achieve your fitness goals, whether you are just starting out or trying to build conditioning for an upcoming martial arts competition, marathon or obstacle race.
